Meet Tiger and Lily

Our winery has just taken in new residents! Our team at Casa Nova has recently taken in two silkie chickens at the vineyard. The silkie bird is a breed of chickens that is thought to have originated in Southeast Asia sometime before the year 1,200. The breed is known for their luscious feathers that resembles silk, their companionship and their inability to fly.

We named the white rooster Tiger, and the black hen Lily. Both are rescues from their previous home, where they were not welcomed by their flock and appeared to be distressed. Tiger was the first to arrive at the winery and immediately became comfortable here. Although Tiger is still slightly on edge, he is comfortable in his new winery home. After he settled in, his previous owner noticed one of his hens wasn't getting along with the others and there came Lily! Since they have met, the pair has been inseparable. When you stop into the winery you will see them together as they roam around the winery and into the woods in search of snacks. Stop in during store hours to meet the duo!
